Set it up once, then just ask.
Divi Connect is a WordPress plugin and one connector URL. Install it, paste the URL into your AI, and start describing the pages you want.
What you need first.
Your site
WordPress, with Divi 5
Divi 5.7 or later, running the Divi 5 builder rather than the legacy one. WordPress 6.0 or later, PHP 8.0 or later.
Your AI
An AI account you already have
Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Gemini CLI or Antigravity — and anything else that speaks the same open standard. A free Claude account is enough to add the connector and build pages.
Reachable
A site your AI can get to
Anything that connects from a vendor’s servers — claude.ai and ChatGPT — needs the site to answer over HTTPS from the open internet. Building on a local site instead? Use a client that runs on your own machine, such as Claude Code, or open a tunnel.
Not needed
The Divi 5 Skill, separately
It is built into the connector and loads itself, matched to your plugin version. There is nothing extra to download. If you also work in a different AI tool, the standalone Skill is there — optional, not a step.
Setup
Four steps, once.

Install the plugin
Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the Divi Connect zip, activate. The activation screen asks whether to connect your account; the free plan works either way and needs no licence.

Copy your connector URL
Open Divi Connect → Connection and press Copy beside your connector URL. Your site’s secret key is already inside that URL, which is why there is nothing else to fill in later.

Add it to your AI
The Connection screen asks which AI you are using and shows that one’s steps. In claude.ai: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, give it a name, paste the URL, and leave the OAuth fields blank. It connects and lists itself under your own site’s name.

Ask it something
Start a new chat and ask which site it is connected to. If it answers with your site name and reads back your own colours, you are connected and you can start building.
Your first three asks.
Plain English is the interface. These three, in order, prove the connection, build something real, and then change it — which is the whole loop you will live in.
Warm-up
“Which site are you connected to, and what look is on it?”
Confirms the connector is live, and shows you what your AI can already see: your colours, sizes, fonts and presets.
First page
“Build an about page for a two-person studio, using my look.”
It plans the page, assembles it from ready-made section patterns in real Divi 5 modules, and publishes it. Open it in the Visual Builder afterwards and keep editing by hand as normal.
First edit
“Make the hero heading smaller and add a button under the intro.”
It changes those two modules in place and leaves the rest of the page alone. Every change is snapshotted first, so History & Activity can put it back.
Meridian, one of five
Give it a look.
Ask for one of the five ready-made looks — Meridian, Foundry, Monolith, Electropop or Jungle — and Divi Connect writes real colours, fonts, sizes and ready-made styles into your site. Everything built afterwards uses them.

Divi’s own panel, not ours
Colours, fonts and sizes land in Divi’s own Variables panel, so the builder, your team and your other plugins all see them the same way.
One click puts it back
Every install snapshots your whole look first, so a site-wide change reverts to exactly what you had before you tried it.
Change it later, everywhere
Pages point at those values instead of copying them, so switching the look restyles the pages you already built.
The two things that go wrong.
“Your AI cannot reach your site”
Nearly always the web host rather than the plugin: a firewall or bot filter answering your AI instead of your site. Open Divi Connect → Connection → “Something not working?”: it runs a real self-test and gives you a line you can run from your own machine to see the true status code — the fastest way to tell a host block from a bad key. If the site is local, claude.ai cannot reach it at all: use Claude Code, or a tunnel.
“Your key is invalid”, or a sign-in error
Delete the connector in your AI and add it again with a URL copied fresh from WP Admin. Editing it, refreshing it, or switching it off and on does not replace the URL your AI cached when you added it — so a key you have already fixed keeps reading as wrong. Do the same after any plugin update, so it picks up the new tools.
